Rick Statt, owner of Rochester Top Notch Tile, is continuing a family tradition of tile excellence. As a third-generation tile installer, Rick grew up learning the trade firsthand. He began working in his father’s tile company at a young age, developing a keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic.
After earning a business degree with a minor in communication from SUNY Fredonia, Rick returned to his roots, driven by his passion for tile craftsmanship. Today, Rick blends traditional values with modern techniques—especially in advanced applications like Gauged Porcelain Tile Panels—to offer Rochester homeowners something truly special.
I’m proud to be a Certified Tile Installer (CTI #1985) — a distinction earned through the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF). The CTI program is the only third-party assessment that tests both hands-on installation skills and technical knowledge based on industry standards.
Becoming CTI certified isn’t easy. Installers must demonstrate precise layout, cutting, waterproofing, and setting techniques under strict time limits and inspection criteria. Only those who meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and accuracy earn certification.
For homeowners, hiring a CTI means peace of mind — you’re getting a professional who installs tile the right way, following proven methods that ensure your tile will look beautiful and last for years.
